Green Initiatives

Moulding & Millwork Inc. and our affiliated businesses are committed to sustainable business practices. We are proudly promoting the use of certified, low emitting, and recycled wood products, including our new SPERO moulding line. Our goal is to provide 100% of material from certified forest or recycled/reclaimed content in all our operations in North America.

In addition, we are setting up Sustainable Operating Standards, which includes responsible manufacturing processes, chain of custody certifications, recycling programs, energy reduction programs, low carbon emission vehicle fleets, and memberships to regional and national "Green" councils.

All Moulding & Millwork’s hardwood, softwood, and prefinished manufacturing facilities hold Chain of Custody certification in accordance with the rules of the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for both Mixed Sources and Controlled Wood standards. FSC Controlled Wood specifies the following five origins must be avoided:

  1. Illegally harvested wood
  2. Wood harvested in violation of traditional and civil rights
  3. Wood harvested in forests in which High Conservation Values (areas particularly worth of protection) are threatened through management activities
  4. Wood harvested from conversion of natural forests
  5. Wood harvested from areas where genetically modified trees are planted
